Beach Trip 2010

So, on Thursday before Memorial Day Andrew decided to take the family to Destin on vacation...pending I could get a great deal on a condo. Well, of course I took him up on it. I immediately got on the internet looking for deals. Olivia didn't love the beach. We took her down 2 days and she played in the sand for about 10 minutes and crawled up on her daddy and fell sound asleep. It was like ambien for a 17 month old. When she woke up we took her out into the ocean. She was okay as long as we got out far enough that the waves weren't breaking. The last day we just went to the pool. Olivia was not fond of the pool at first, but she certainly warmed up to it. She wanted to drink the water. Yuck!

My mom went with us. Since she doesn't like to actually go down to the beach, she kept Beckett. They did a little shopping while we were at the beach in the mornings and Mom sat up in the room with the girls during their afternoon nap while Andrew and I were on the beach. Beckett joined us on the beach twice for a photo op. We had a great time. As for the oil - the water was super blue. We didn't see or smell any oil. However, when we were leaving we heard on the news that tar balls were washing up at Perdido Key. Thank goodness we beat out the nastiness.
