Olivia's First Surgery
For months and months Olivia had a runny nose. We would clear it up with antibiotics and then 3 days later it would start running again. I know the poor child got so tired of everyone wiping her nose. So 7 months, 6 antibiotics, Benadyrl, Zyrtec, and Singulair later I took it upon myself to take her to the Ear Nose and Throat doctor. We saw a wonderful lady named Dr. Victoria Lim. She sent us to Leboneur to have xrays done only to find out that her adenoids were touching her palate and blocking most of her airway. (After surgery Dr. Lim told us that it was 95% blocked.) So on August 19 we were scheduled to have the adenoids taken out. Of course nothing we do is with ease. When we had our consultation with anesthesia the week before they made me nervous we were going to have to postpone the surgery. You see since I have a blood condition that causes my blood not to clot properly, Olivia had to be tested for it. Those tests came back 4 days later...and they were okay. So we were at Leboneur East at 6:30 am Thursday morning and were home by 10:30 am. She did great. Her little face was red as could be due to a reaction from the anesthesia. She was whiney and grumpy for a couple of days, but now she doesn't snore like a man when she sleeps. She had to learn how to breath through her nose. She is doing great though. No more choking on food or sleep apnia. No more worrying all. night. long that she is going to stop breathing and not wake up. We've all been sleeping better the past week (even Beckett).
