We thought it would never happen. We've been going to he games for a long time. And for a long time we have been saying if we ever made it, WE WERE GOING! We had kids and tax season became strenuous...and we quit going to the games. But something happened we always hoped for but never expected. The Ole Miss baseball team won. They won their regional. Then they went down and played the #1 team at Louisiana Lafayette and WON the series!
So what do people that haven't been to a baseball game in 2 years do? They load 3 kids ages 5 and under up in the car and drive 13 hours (for normal people) to Omaha, NE to the College World Series.
These kids were thrilled.
And by thrilled I mean they had no idea what we were doing.
We were in the car a really really long time. We drove and we drove and we drove.
We stopped to get a hotel room 2 or 3 times only to find a dumpy little motel on the side of the road. Apparently we weren't the only ones because there were quite a few Rebel fans at our motel.
I could NOT believe we were the only car I saw with shoe polish on our window. I mean, come on! It's baseball for heaven's sake!
When we got there we met our guy with our tickets.
Headed to the hotel room to drop off our stuff and headed to the stadium.
We were decked out in our Red and Blue.
And the atmosphere just walking up to the stadium was one that could only be beat by the Grove.
And these kids...
They had fun the whole time.
Until they got hot.
And then they complained.
And then we had a man down.
Even though the Rebels didn't win the game it was a great time! It was truly an experience of a lifetime. And I'm beyond thankful that our seats were under the upper deck. The kids would have never made it. Because it was some kinda hot. HOT.
